Story

Some of you serial monogamists will be able to relate to the words of this song.

Story

The 2013 version of a song written in the 70s for a girl from Uclulet, on Vancouver Island. In the 80s it was recorded on a Tascam cassette recorder and you can listen to that version here for comparison purposes.

Story

Written in 1973 for a girl named Catherine from Uclulet, BC, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Recorded sometime in the 80s on a little Tascam PortaStudio. I remember doing the vocals in a public washroom facility on a beach somewhere when I was on the road with David Cholodylo - maybe Osoyoos.

I hope to do more with this demo - add a rocking' fuzz steel guitar (or ANY guitar!) or maybe get my brother to play slide on it. The organ solo is just a place-holder.

Story

This is a demo of a song that will probably go to radio at some point (though probably with a much different production).

Story

The John Beggs Band were a group that was popular around Mission, BC for a number of years in the early 1970s. They began when an English blues singer named Steve Caller teamed up with some still-in-high-school musicians to form a smooth, English blues band known as the John Beggs Blues Band (named after the John Begg Scotch Whisky). After some member changes, a more rock-oriented group dropped the "Blues" in the name and headed out for adventure at places like the Whitehorse Hotel in the Yukon and Fort Boogie in Vancouver. This is an original, "Tongues of Fire", written by David, Roy and Len, and recorded July 18, 1974 at Vancouver's legendary Psi-Chord Studio by Robin Spurgin. David Ostrosser is singing, with Roy Nicholson on guitar. Dave Fossum plays bass, Doug Ostrosser (David's brother) is on slide guitar, and Leonard Skye plays drums.

Lyrics

The lyrics describe vaguely events in downtown Mission BC involving the "Jesus Freaks" that frequented the "House of James" Christian bookstore on Main Street.

Story

This song was inspired by the bushy eyebrows of Liberal Party leader Michael Ignatieff, which I thought resembled my own somewhat. At that time, I was unaware that the popular Radio-Canada (French CBC) program "Infoman" had a series of episodes called "Les aventures des sourcils de Michael Ignatieff" and that a  Facebook group had been set up in honour of his eyebrows. Our own video of Iggy Eyebrows was picked up by the Facebook group and the Infoman producers included portions of our video into their show.
